Starlight Children's Foundation Gala Dinner
The client first came to Staging Connections Adelaide with a theme in mind and images of the Phantom of the Opera on a mood board. They wanted to create a dramatic effect and an intimate mood for this annual event which was held in the Ballroom at the Adelaide InterContinental.
Our Adelaide stylist Alana was made the lighting central to the design as it was crucial to achieving the right mood. It was important that the hazer, glaciator and smoke effects would fill the room and create the mystical, enchanting environment the client wanted. Over a thousand candles were used including pillar candles on the tables and oil filled candles in the candelabras. The team ensured they choose the right candles to deliver the longest possible burn time. Even the small tea lights had a 9 hour burn time! The biggest concern was ensuring the candles weren’t in the direct path of air conditioners and making sure they were not lit too early. In the end it took 20 people 10 minutes to light them all.
