A Little About The Events
The Welcome Function
The Welcome function took place at McLaren’s Landing, South Stradbroke Island. Taking advantage of the beach-side location, we created a jungle paradise with branded and atmospherically lit market-stalls for catering.
A double stage was constructed on the beach – one for presentations with a super bright LED screen for impressive vision, and a separate one for the entertainment. Guests were entertained with photo booths, African acrobatic and fire dancers, tribal drummers, Aerial Angles and contortionist. An extreme display of jet pack and water ski performers holding Asian Paints flags, coupled with fireworks, was the spectacular finale.

Movie World on the Gold Coast was the setting for team building activities. Event Backdrops with striking skylines were designed to add drama to the group’s photographs with super hero favourites. In the evening, we delivered a Polynesian themed night with custom Event Backdrops, beautiful Hibiscus gobos with merged lighting, giant gold palm trees, Polynesian props and a Pacific island inspired dance show. On the second team building day, the group moved to Tangalooma Island with their event agency Encompass.
On day four, the group experienced the beauty of Sydney Harbour with a cruise on MV Epicure, where Staging Connections provided wireless audio for full-coverage on each deck of the boat, plus party lighting for the DJ and dance floor for the evening’s celebrations.
Conference and Closing Gala Celebration
The closing Conference and Gala Celebrations took place at The Dome at Sydney Showground and The Star Sydney where guests were met by a giant banner welcoming them as the Asian Paints ‘Ultimates’. An impressive stage set of interlocking hexagonal panels, a super-sized screen and giant 3D letters spelling out the theme ‘ULTIMATES’ was built. The set was flanked by four, portrait formation Event Backdrops and amazing lighting and projection effects illuminated the stage and screen.
Gesture and motion control was our secret weapon for the presentations. The technology was used to reveal street murals sponsored by Asian Paints around Mumbai. Using ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos of the buildings, the President of Asian Paints appeared to paint the artworks with an ordinary paintbrush through the use of motion tracking cameras.
Gesture control used to reveal before and after artwork on screen using a paint brush.
Asian Paints new products and branding were unveiled using motion sensing technology. The President revealed their ‘game changer’ products by moving a paint tin around which Staging Connections attached a motion sensor to. As the tin moved, a 3D design of the new branding appeared on the screen and simulated the President’s motions in real time. The President loved the technology and was excited to reveal conference content in this fun and dynamic way.
Motion sensing technology revealed Colour of the Year when paint tin was turned.
We created a dramatic unveiling for the ‘Colour of the Year’ using gesture control, sound FX and lighting. Leading up to the moment of reveal, lighting in the venue was cut, with a loud ‘shut-down’ sound effect reverberating around the venue. This was followed by sounds of shattering glass falling down, with images of shards of glass then appearing on screens, followed by darkness and quiet once more. Out of the darkness a solitary violin soloist was illuminated by the glow of a spotlight. Momentum continued to build with dancers creating waves across the stage using long, sheer fabric in the colour – Intense Ocean. Projection on the super-sized screen cast dynamic images of beaches and water, tying in the preceding days.

More performances followed, delighting the guests, including an appearance by celebrity cricketer Sourav Ganguly, illusionists Adam and Selena and a Bollywood dance extravaganza. Asian Paints Privilege Club members thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere created and invited our team onto the stage to celebrate the amazing production at the very final event!
