What better way to plan the future of Brisbane than by bringing it to life! This year’s annual “Plan Your Brisbane City Wide Forum” welcomed 400 Brisbane locals at Pullman Brisbane King George Square (Pullman Brisbane) to share ideas on the progress and development of Brisbane City moving forward. It was a hugely successful event that featured on the local nightly news, across online media and the social sphere. As the in-house audio visual and event services provider, the brief to Staging Connections’ was simple: to create an engaging and interactive environment that highlighted Brisbane City, from it’s green spaces to city buildings and everything in between.

The local team used creative styling, audio visual and interactive event technology to immerse guests in the forum experience.

As delegates walked up the stairs to the pre-function foyer, they were welcomed to a ‘Southbank’ scene complete with the big ferris wheel and letter lights spelling BRISBANE.

Continuing through the space delegates were invited to view entries for a local film competition in the cinema room, styled with a recreated Story Bridge.

The registration desk was framed with a Brisbane cityscape with splashes of green trees spread throughout the foyer to represents Brisbane’s abundant parks and green spaces.

To encourage and facilitate the sharing and capturing of ideas – a crucial element of any forum event - Brisbane City Council utilised 4 x interactive Touch Kiosks in the pre-function area. Attendees were invited to complete surveys or play games, which helped attendees understand the challenges and opportunities of creating a city that is friendly and liveable for future generations.

It was a typical forum-styled AV set-up in the main function room with 5 screens running content and live-to-screen camera footage.

With merely 12 days to pull it all together, the event was a huge collaborative effort by our crew and production team in South East Queensland to ensure it was delivered on-brief and ran seamlessly. It was a fantastic event to be part of in helping shape Brisbane’s future and we look forward to its results and next year’s forum!
