Staging Connections to deliver largest incentive gala event in Barangaroo


Staging Connections has been appointed by Amway Taiwan to deliver the prestigious gala event in Sydney at the Cutaway, Barangaroo.

 To be captured on film, and by drones to show the massive scale, the event is set to be a visual extravaganza of epic proportions and pay homage to all things Australiana. 

Over 1,100 VIPs from Amway will attend the gala event, which will be the largest international incentive in Sydney so far for 2016. Overall, the incentive will attract some 1,200 delegates staying 6,500 delegate days and generate an estimated $6.5m in direct expenditure for the State of NSW. 

Business Events Sydney, the convention bureau for Sydney and NSW, worked with the city’s stakeholders to win this piece of business for Sydney. 

CEO of Business Events Sydney, Lyn Lewis-Smith said,“Asia is a key driver of incentive business into NSW. Companies out of this region are looking for the ‘wow factor’ when choosing their next host city – the city needs to be able to deliver beyond expectations to reward, motivate and inspire a company’s top salespeople or distributors. Sydney ticks all the boxes.” 

Although Barangaroo has played host to a number of events since opening late 2015, this will be the first international incentive gala event to date. Staging Connections was selected after an extensive pitch process, where the company was able to demonstrate their superior experience and commitment to innovation in event services.

Staging Connections will be responsible for the delivery of all event elements for Amway’s gala occasion, including the design and build of a huge stage, projection of amazing graphics across an 80m by 12m sandstone rock wall canvas, and amazing styling and a few firsts in entertainment including international artists.

The event will be jam-packed with once-in-a-lifetime experiences these international delegates would have found hard to do by themselves. The incentive’s finale will include the taking over one of Sydney’s newest and exciting event spaces, the Cutaway at Barangaroo Headland Park. The program will also include a dinner cruise and a trip to the Blue Mountains and the Hunter Valley.
