In September 2016, Luxperience engaged Staging Connections to design and deliver a spectacular Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony at the recently renovated Four Points by Sheraton, Sydney.
For the event’s fifth year, the Gala Dinner celebrated the conclusion to Day 3, of the three and a half day business exchange for luxury and high end experiential travel specialists and suppliers from around the world.

The Luxperience Awards acknowledged excellence in the development and promotion of the evolving nature of high end travel. Overall, the nominees for every category set global industry standards for inspiration, innovation and quality assurance. Nominees and ultimate winners were recognised for excellence in the development of the high-end experiential travel and MICE industries. As such the event production and audio visual had to be seamless and simply beautiful to impress the 580 attendees.
Staging Connections transformed the ballroom with colourblaze lighting, five projection screens, 80 table pin spots and huge subwoofers to support the massive sound required by some of the electrifying entertainers.
Delicate and low table fixtures allowed everyone to easily view and celebrate the real reason for the night, the award finalists and winners. Powerful and vibrant lighting set the mood from both above and below, drenching the crowd in hues of blue and purple.

The glittering event was presided over by the Master of Ceremonies, the effervescent style guru Henry Weinreich Roth, and lifestyle partner and evening sponsor, Sydney City Lexus impressed guests with its display of a rose gold limited edition Lexus LFA valued at over one million dollars. This was all made possible by the new 4 tonne rated goods lift installed in the venue.

Deemed a major success, the event continued to delight guests well into the night with a jam packed schedule of entertainment, including Nan Heo String Diva - a Violin soloist, the Mad Men of Swing and Sydney’s leading party band, Miss Bird and The Players.

The success of the awards gala contributed to the overall success of Luxperience which saw a 19% increase in floor space on last year with almost 300 exhibitors being represented, including Staging Connections for the first time!
“The evening was a great celebration of our industry, with some of the world’s most impressive suppliers and an elite group of decision-makers in the global luxury and experiential travel arena in attendance. The finalists and winners of this year’s award are to be congratulated on their continued setting of industry standards for inspiration, innovation and quality at the highest level.”
